We are delighted to announce that the new Trinity Community

We hope that this exciting new facility will become a great
asset for the local communities here in Thorpe Hesley and Scholes. Please

- a community library operated by Rotherham Council, which doubles as
a meeting room when not in use;
- a professional catering kitchen;
- on the first floor, a further meeting room and small office which
is available for rent.
Wheelchair access is currently limited until completion
of the car park and other external work..

during week commencing 15th October:

Funding Background
The new centre has been funded by the local community, the
Methodist Church, Sheffield Dioecese, WREN and the Big Lottery Fund, together
with other grant providers.
The community building was awarded £175,000
as one of five finalists in the Waste Recycling Group Village
Hall & Community Centre Challenge. Thorpe Hesley was chosen
from 70 candaidates in this national scheme.
Jan Hardy said "We are delighted to have received
this award. The additional amount will enable us to create a library facility
and make the building a great asset for the whole community".
The Challenge funding comes from the landfill tax money
of Waste Recycling Group Ltd, administered and distributed by Environmental
Body WREN. The Landfill
Tax Credit Scheme gives waste management companies the opportunity to
invest up to 6% of their Landfill Tax bill into community and environmental
projects in their immediate area.
